Newsletter: Audit of resistance studies 10/08/2007 12:05:02

Plain-text Body:
You may be aware that there is a proposal to set up a teleconference forum to discuss the results of resistance studies carried out in Scotland. Many of us feel that that would be time-consuming and unnecessary for most of the tests which are likely to be straightforward. However, to inform the debate, I feel it would be useful to carry out an audit of previous resistance assays. This would mean interrogating the HPS database for details of antiretroviral drugs prescribed before and after a resistance study was carried out. This would allow us to identify any trends in terms of situations in which wider discussion might help - almost certainly a small minority of cases with complex resistance patterns. The results of the audit would of course be anonymous. Anybody with any reservations please log onto the discussion board
Cheers
